Carrick Concerts’ Spring 2026 season continues on Saturday 18 April at 7.30pm at Tremayne Hall, Mylor Bridge, with a recital by Icelandic-American cellist

Both musicians have given tremendous performances at Carrick Concerts in recent years, and it is a real pleasure to welcome them back. Antoine received a standing ovation at his first solo recital here, and in 2024 he returned with Geirþrúður to delight audiences again with brilliant performances of Shostakovich, Prokofiev and Debussy. During that visit they also spent a day giving open masterclasses for some of Cornwall’s most talented young instrumentalists, including memorable performances of Rachmaninov and Beethoven.
Geirþrúður has appeared at major venues including Carnegie Hall, the Southbank Centre and Lincoln Center, and as a soloist with orchestras such as the Iceland Symphony Orchestra and the Royal Academy of Music Symphony Orchestra. Antoine, a Naïve Records exclusive artist and multiple prize-winner, has performed at leading venues including Wigmore Hall, St John’s Smith Square and Salle Gaveau in Paris, and is gaining international recognition for his distinctive musical voice.
Their programme will include Mendelssohn’s wonderfully tuneful Cello Sonata in D major, Sibelius’s Four Pieces Op. 76, Beethoven’s Sonata No. 3 and Dvořák’s much-loved Silent Woods.
This concert will also mark the Carrick Concerts debut of the new Roseland Grand Piano – an instrument to which many Carrick Concert supporters have generously contributed.
During their visit Antoine and Geirþrúður will again give a public masterclass for pianists and cellists on Monday 20 April from 10am to 1pm at Tremayne Hall. Performers of any age (Grade V and above) would be very welcome to take part, and everyone is warmly invited to come along and listen. Admission is free, with donations welcome towards the musicians’ travel costs.
